Co-op blues

I had 5 interviews over the course of the month, and had been really looking forward to one of the jobs, mostly becaause that interview seemed to have gone really well. How pleasant to find that I wasn't even given a ranking (ie. I hadn't been considered for the job at all).

The way Co-op works is after you go through the first round of interviews, the employers rank the students from 1-9, or not ranked (a ranking of 1 means you've been offered the job). Ranking is then open to the students, who can only rank the jobs they were ranked for. You are told if you get any 1's (which I clearly didn't =P), and can choose if you want the job or not. Some semi-random matching process is then executed, and if you're on the lucky end you end up with a job, else it's back to job hunting.

My current options are an IT help position in Guelph, or TA for a 1st year comp eng course. I like the TA job more, but I think it's safe to say I won't be getting that job, due to the way they said they would do rankings.

Maybe I'll go nag some profs for a research position... I've heard that it's pretty interesting.
