1am, can't sleep.
I could possibly utilize this time for studying, but I can't really focus right now either, so I figured I'd attempt some serious blogging for a change. Actually, I've changed my mind. I'll end up rambling for hours and sleep through my midterm if I try a 'serious' post =P. So! this shall be a post about stuff in general and nothing in specific.
Where to begin...
Well, school has been pretty fun thus far (up until and excluding midterms). My courses are interesting, and I enjoy them for the most part. Sadly, that doens't prevent me from sleeping in any of them -_-;; Dimmed lights, slow pacing, and/or droning voice can knock me out within 5 minutes. I have 3 labs this term: 1 'lab' for processor programming, 1 for electrical circuits, and 1 for electronic devices (MOSFETs for the most part).
The circuits lab is the most painful. The lab "manual" is a poorly structured pdf file. Often times it takes half the lab time to figure out just what the instructions are! It takes a bit of guessing to figure out which parts are "instructions" and which are extra (and not always useful? O_o) information. Our lab instructor is a pretty crabby guy too. I've been told that's he's really nice once you get to know him, but so far he doesn't seem like it at all. Anyway, on of the lab TAs said that the labs are going to be redone soon; Unfortunately, it's too late for our class, as we're stuck with the old lab structure.
In other news, the first round of interviews has ended, and ranking results will be posted this Friday. I had 7 interviews this round... a HUGE change from 1st year, hehe. 2 interviews went really well, 1 was very rushed so I'm not sure I got myself across (the interviewers had arrived late, and were trying to make up for lost time -_-;;), 1 job I'm definately not getting (more on this), and the rest went ranged from decent to well =). Hehe, for the interview that didn't go so well, I believe it was a 30 minute interview slot... I was in there for less than 10 =D. The job was essentially "Teach teachers how to use this list of applications". Uhhh... no thanks. They gave me a 'test' of sort to see how I'd teach someone how to edit their document in Word. At the end, they said "Well, it looks like you've still got a bit of learning to do *smiles*" ::smiles and nods::
The job that I want is the one in that group of "went really well". Basically, I'd be doing software testing for a series of the company's products. Despite how boring testing itself can sound, the company, environment, and their range of products sounds really interesting (they do desktop, server, and handheld applications for beverage distributors). I reaaaally want that job ><
I'm beginning to lose the ability to think, so I'm off to attempt sleep once again.
