I think it's much more fun being on the exec team/committee than being just a member -- in much the same way as it's more fun being a frosh leader as opposed to being the frosh. People don't want to be all crazy and hyped up during the events, but as a leader, you get to go all out ;)
I don't think I"ll run for exec again next term (I don't want to take the same position again, but the social reqs for the other positions don't suit me either =P), but I do think I'll join the committee and just help out wherever needed.
The post over at KonJa pretty much summaries Thursday's meeting, but I guess I'll flesh out a couple details here ;)
Guruguru Kakekko to Pan-kui Kyousou
We took these two events and modified/combined them into one crazily hilarous race. The runners first have to spin around in place for 10 secs, then dash for the line of timbits we had strung up (Japanese normally use bread). They then have to jump for the timbits and eat them without using their hands... That alone left my sides hurting for most of the night, hahaha. And of course, they then had to run to the finish line not too far off -- a trivial task at that point =P
Sannin Yonkyaku
"Three people four legs", we extended this to 5-6 people and whatever number of legs that equates to. I guess the proper term would be "Mukade Kyousou" (centipede competition). We also had the Exec team in on this one -- we would've won too, had one of our strings not snapped ^^;
"Borrowing Game"
I don't know the Japanese name for this game. Perhaps I'll watch Azumanga again at some point and see if i can find it (or perhaps one of you avid readers out there knows?). Anyway, this is essentially a scavenger-hunt game. Sadly, the teams had fallen apart completely by this point, and most people were more concerned with socializing than cheering their fellow teammates on. And being a team scavenger hunt, the lack of attentive teams made things rather... pointless. Our poor VP was assaulted twice during this game: once for his shoe, and then again for his camera, hehe. Although "baka" was not one of the items to bring back, "president" was among the items listed; however, our prez had also randomly decided to join in the fray, so the person who needed him had quite the time trying to chase him down, haha.
Kibasen
We were going to get a game of kibasen going, but most everyone had scattered into socializing pockets, and those still interested deemed the game too dangerous... booooo.
In summary, that was one of the most interesting Konja meeting I've been to thus far. We've got some crazy-hyper people on Exec this term, so I'm hoping the rest of this term will be just as fun =)
