Mushishi

I've started watching an anime called Mushishi. While I wouldn't call it amazingly good or a "must see", I still like it a lot. This quote from another Kino fan is what got me interested:

"I recently began watching Mushishi because several of my friends have pointed out parallels between this series and one of my favorites, Kino no Tabi. So far I've been enjoying the series a lot, for much of the same reasons I love Kino."

I find that that holds quite true for me too. Mushishi has that same feeling of "the world is beautiful, but life sucks" that Kino no Tabi has. Or more accurately, the world is beautiful, but people are very good at screwing it up royally. I like the music too, it's very calming and the entire mood of the series is kind of laid back. It can also be watched entirely out of order, which is nice for those days when you're really bored and want to rewatch something, hehe.
