Ya, I'm obsessed... feel free to ignore the following if you don't care for OSC or GGK ramblings.
The Ender's Game movie was announced years ago, and it seems there's still no progress on it. The "latest" news I've come across is from a year and some back, at which time they had gone back to working out a first draft of the script...?? (I could easily be misinformed on this.) As much as I want it to be good, I also really want to see it done. Or at least know that it's actually going to happen. Within my lifetime.
I've also discovered that The Lions of Al-Rassan and The Last Light of the Sun are also being adapted to film. The Last Light of the Sun will be especially interesting, as the book was very strongly defined by it's style of prose, which I imagine doesn't translate well onto the screen. I'm hoping it'll turn out well, but at the same time, I don't want to get my hopes up. It's difficult going into a novel-turned-movie without your own preconceptions as to what the movie form ought to look like =P
The press release mentioned that the director assigned to Lions had also done The Last Samurai. If that's still the case, then I think I'll be a happy cookie when the Lions movie is out ^^ (though it's probably still years away from release :()
