American animation

Marathoned season 1 of Avatar: The Last Airbender over the past couple days. I'm more impressed with it now than I was when I first saw it on TV. The choreography is very detailed and very well done. You can tell they put a lot of research effort into making it as authentic as possible. Actually, I think it was all the fight scenes alone that made me want to continue marathoning it =P

The plot is well-paced, and there's a good balance between light-hearted humor and seriousness (it's targeted for kids, after all). My one gripe is that the brother almost always portrayed as lazy, shallow, the scapegoat, and practically expendable... i.e. the sidekick that only exists for comedic value.

Got season 2 ready for leeching, and this time I don't have any looming assignments to slow me down :D
