Mornings

I'm not a morning person at all. It typically takes me at least 4-5 snoozes before I actually wake up (and maybe another 2 before I get out of bed ;)). My mind is sluggish for about an hour after that.

I also tend to only register the minutes portion of the clock in my morning daze, since my wake-up timing is usually pretty regular. Of course, this means that if I'm an hour early or late, I really don't notice it until I'm out of my hour-long daze.

This morning I woke up at x:10, thinking "!@$# I'm going to be really late >_<!". Even getting out of the door ASAP, with the frost today it would put me 30 minutes late. It seemed a lot darker out than normal, but being in a dazed sort of panic, I ignored it and sped out the door. I did wonder if daylight savings time had somehow snuck up on me (in the middle of the week, no less (and also the wrong way around)). It wasn't until I reached the office and saw the half-empty lot that I began to suspect something was very off. When I finally get inside (fail parking :(), I find that no one from my team is in, and the clock is telling me I'm 30 minutes early >_<

Ironically, I also listen to 680 News in the mornings, where they announce the time practically every 10 minutes (takes me 30 to get to work). Apparently I still only pay attention to the minutes portion when given the time verbally =P
